Production Division & Livable Income
Nowadays, being in the lowest financial bracket is
commonplace. It is regarded by experts
as a sign of inability and vulnerability.
Poverty is actually calculated based on the minimum required income of
individuals or on their consumption levels.
Growth and development are concepts in poverty that may
sound the same but are actually not in interchangeable terms. Growth refers to the gross income of
individuals and families, while development is on a much wider spectrum. Development required the whole population to
benefit from the nation’s growth rather than limited to a select few.
When referring to development, it covers three important
aspects.
- Sustenance, which means that in order for individuals and families to achieve reasonable quality of life, certain basic needs like shelter, access to health care, education, and food should be met.
- Self-esteem refers to the dignity of the people in the labor.
- Freedom means being emancipated from servitude.
For any social development project, their aim should include
increasing the availability of the goods important in sustaining life and
alleviating the quality of living among individuals by expanding their social
choices.
